RAKETA MECHANICAL WATCHES

The Petrodvorets Watch Factory (RAKETA), located in Saint-Petersburg, was initially founded by Peter the Great in 1721 as a precious stone manufacture. It supplied precious stones for the crown of the Tzars, for Fabergé, Imperial palast, the Kremlin Stars and Lenin's moseleum.

From 1930's the factory started manufacturing rubis for watch mechanisms, then watches under famous soviet brands. In 1962 the factory created its own new brand RAKETA in honor of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
